Well, thats it really!
I had severe SPD in my last pregnancy, 16months ago! And it is all still hurting. Today has been really bad, lots of driving, walking etc which I know I shouldn't have done.

I've taken my tablets, which are now making me feel sick and drowsey, but I can't get up the bloody stairs until my dh gets home to take me up there!

Feeling sorry for myself

No CF, we can't really afford it, and my Dr has said as it is not "proven" to help with SPD, the NHS won't give it to me

Wow 16 months on and your still suffering!!

I had SPd in my first pregnancy with Dd but it went away almost as soon as I delivered her. I am 37wks preg with my 2nd and have been suffering since about 17weeks - never thought for a minute that it wouldnt go away after my LO is born.
I feel really sorry for you - I only hope that I dont suffer afterwards.
Surely you should be able to get some sort of help on the NHS?

MrsJohnCusack · 25/01/2007 22:05

shit jofeb04, that's awful . HAve SPD but it seems to have stopped getting worse and so with only 4 weeks to go am hoping it will go afterwards...

So if the NHS won't pay for osteopathy, what WILL they pay for? surely better to try that than give you pills which won't cure it! Do you think your doctor is being obstructive, could you see another one?

Thanks for the sympathy.
The doctors seem like they don't know what to do about it. I had acupunture which didn't work (but seems to be expensive) so that might be half the problem. I also had 6months of physio (again, hasn't helped at all).
Generally, I just get by the six days my dh is in work, but this week I have no chance!

Back to the doctors again I think!
I am on co-codamol, the 30-500 which are pritty strong, but they make me feel awful. Normal painkillers don't even touch the pain.
Still, my dh should be home in 20minutes!

it sounds AWFUL
painkillers don't cure it do they, something else needs to be done. you are effectively disabled at the moment by the sound of it!
I hope the doctor can be a bit more useful this time...
