Have you successfully had treatment for hair loss?

It's getting quite upsetting - my fringe area has all but disappeared and I seem to leave a trail of hairs everywhere I go. Is it worthwhile asking the dr? I already take thyroxine and my blood level results have been steady for years.

Watching with interest. Have been thinking of ringing the docs but worried I'll feel like I'm wasting their time. I thought it was a post partum thing but baby is nearly 2 now!

watching too

dm has this problem.unfortunately loads of drs visit and referrals have made no difference.

BeJayKayven · 13/07/2016 17:36

It's too common 😕
stare if you don't mind my asking, what was your DM referred for ( obv hair loss, but in relation to a condition?) and to what type of consultant?

I just don't understand, if it's hormonal/something else,why there isn't a treatment

OP, you are aware that hair loss us a side effect of Levothyroxine?

It took a transfer to natural desiccated thyroid extract to fix mine.

BeJayKayven · 14/07/2016 19:33

I did not know that! Shocked. Is natural desiccated thyroid extract a prescribed medicine?
