Baby's toenails

When she was born her nailbed were sunken, it looked as if she had no nails. Six weeks on and her nails are growing but as soon as they hit the end of the nailbed they start growing upwards at a 90 degree angle. I tried to remove part of a nail which was coming away but it made her toenail bleed and it still looks sore (3 days on). I worry that she might get ingrown toenails and get infected.

Had 6 week check and mentioned this to the doctor and she thinks that when she gets older it will be less of a problem.

Anyone elses children had problems like this?

What did you do?

My DD had sunken toenails too, but now at age 2 they are perfectly normal. I didn't notice the 90 degree angle thing but they never really grew past the end of the nailbed because they always seemed to just flake off after that.

I should hang on for a good while and things will probably sort themselves out.

One more abnormality for my mum to point out.

She keeps on about my dd1s tongue tie
