think I got tonsillitus.......feel lousy

started with sore throat on Friday night. Gradually got worse and now got two big lmps in side of neck - can hardly speak, all bones aching, stiff neck.

To top it all off, have got to walk dd1 to pre school and cope with 8 month old baby.

I JUST WANT TO STAY IN BED!!!!!!

TAKE baby to bed with you, with a bag of supplies and the remote control - I'VE BEEN DOING IT ALL WEEKEND!

Everything except gwtting tto preschool, feeding thyem and you can wait!

Can no one help?
I had tonsilitis from Boxing Day for about 7 days. Fever and so on. Got antibiotics about 48h after it started (a 10 day course).
Thankfully dh was on leave and I just spent the whole time in bed. There is NO WAY I could have coped otherwise - haven't felt that ill for, well, forever.
Have you got the white lumps on your tonsils? If you have, then it's time to go to the GP for antibiotics. If they're just pink or red and inflamed, gargle with soluble paracetemol (or just drink it - it helps keep your fluids up). Think that when they're white and lumpy it's baterial and when pink and inflamed viral so antib's won't help.
Tyrozets might help a bit.
Hope you can get someone to help you out.
