I've just started Aikido (martial art) again nearly 13 months after dd born by c section. During the warm up whilst doing side steps (seriously nothing vigourous) I felt quite a lot of discomfort on my scar.
In the past year I have had this quite a few times if I turn quickly or over do it, but it seem to have got a bit better.
I slowed right down and didn't try to do anything more, but was really disappointed.
I've always seen pain as a warning sign, but this wasn't pain as such, so was I wrong to stop or do I need to push past it in order for my body to get used to exercise again.

Any ideas on how long these things take to heal completely?

Is it worth going to my GP or will he laugh?

If he laughs he is an idiot. Pain in a c section scar needs checking out.

I havent had a csection but i do have the same scar from an op to remove a huge ovarian cyst, I only had it done 8 weeks ago and i am pain free now, i have been exercising for a couple of weeks and had no problems.

If you are still getting discomfort 13 months later, i would definately get it checked. HTH.
