Recommendations for a gynaecological surgeon in London to perform bartholin cyst marsupialisation?

Hello!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a gynaecological surgeon in London for me please?

I have a recurring bartholin cyst and would like to have a marsupialisation done, but have had one failed and one totally botched marsupialisation by NHS surgeons on that side before... I had a failed NHS operation on the other side 15 years ago and then found an amazing gynaecological surgeon in South Africa who fixed it and it's never recurred, and I'd love to find someone as good as him in London!

The SA surgeon was recommended by a friend who'd been with him during her three pregnancies, so I'm not fixated on having recommendations for surgeons with whom you have specific bartholin cyst experience, just a good, sensible and kind gynaecological surgeon recommendation will do very nicely!

Isn't this procedure fairly 'bread and butter' for consultant gynaes?

I can recommend this place www.132harleystreet.com where you can find lots of gynaes or alternatively look at the website of the King Edward 7 hospital (round corner from Harley St) where there are some top of the game gynaes and read their profiles.

I wouldn't go with the idea that a private gynae consultant is going to be better than an NHS one.

I had it the other way around - highly recommended private consultant ended up in failed procedure (site got infected, then cyst came back again); NHS procedure a few months later solved the issue (10 years and counting!).

I think its less a case of 'botch jobs' and more that marsupialisation just doesn't work sometimes. Worth having it again, though.

Thank you for your message! Do you happen to remember the name of the surgeon who operated successfully on it, and which hospital was (s)he at?

It would be lovely to find someone in the NHS who can do this well, I just want to do more background research into the specific surgeon beforehand this time, since the last one left a mess behind that looked like a battleground and has scarred really horribly!

Hi,
I've currently got a cyst. It's not painful unless I'm sat on a hard floor. I've been given clarithromycin 500mg twice a day. I'm having terrible upset stomach if I eat a meal and I've noticed a very light green/slightly bloody discharge. I've never had one before and I'm not sure if all that is normal! Will it burst or will the tablets just make it go down and disappear? Also sometimes it can itch for a few seconds and then stop. I've search the web and I can't find any answers. I'd really appreciate some advice!! Thanks
