My 12 month old dd3 has impetigo again. I am used to spotting it and always have some fucidin to hand. I started putting it on her a couple of days ago and although the centre of the infection is dry the edges are still spreading and are weepy.
Basically I would like to know people's experiennces of how long it takes the fucidin to work. Should it still be spreading? My memories of using it before are that it starts to dry up sooner than this.
I don't really want to have to go down the antibiotic route again. Advice please

God I HAAATE impetigo! I am so sorry your little dd has it

My children didn't get it until they were older but despite my extremely vigilant efforts it has come back a couple of times.

Although I always keep Fucidin on hand and use it - I don't find it very effective. I'm afraid I always get down to the doctor for antibiotics asap. It's (for us) been the only thing that zaps it and fast.

That pink medicine is vile (I know cos I licked a bit when it dripped onto my finger) My mean sweetie rationing gets put on hold when they have to take it because the promise of a sweet is the only way to choke it down.

If you think it's still spreading I would get to the doctor now before it takes too much of a hold. Really hope your dd is free of it soon.
