Two things...

  1. WTF is a skin tag?

  2. Can you get them on...erm...your fanjo?

Please stop laughing and help - am a regular but strangely enough am not anxious to reveal my true name

A skin tag is like a loose lump of skin - feel wobby to touch usually.

Prob no reason you couldn't get on your fanjo.

I had a little lump removed from my fanjo area a few years ago by an extremely suave and sophisticated and handsome gynae. Turned out to be a mole!

I have a largish skin tag just at the top of my thigh. Had it removed by doc but it is growing back.

ihavechangedmyname · 20/01/2007 08:59

Am I going to have to go and show someone then?

Thank you very much btw

I started off my showing mine to practice nurse at Gp surgery. She referred me to gynae. (We had health insurance so went private.)

It was removed under general anaesthetic.

Some more info here

ludaloo · 20/01/2007 09:05

oh...I have one on my inner leg right at the top (next to my fanjo) It has been there for as long as I can remember! Do you have to get rid of them??? I'm quite fond of mine!

ludaloo · 20/01/2007 09:08

....its only very tiny and isn't a problem....

ihavechangedmyname · 20/01/2007 09:19

Not sure this is what this is after all...it feels to me as if one of the inner lips (TMI has split into 2 and DH (when he stopped laughing) agreed. Have definitely not done anything recently that could have caused it. Did have stitches when DS was born 9 months ago but not there and I'm pretty sure I would have noticed by now if they'd "missed a bit."

Cannot believe I'm discussing my fanjo

Can quite safely say that it doesn't sound like a skin tag.
I'd recommend you go get it checked out with a health professional.
Probably nothing to worry about, but you need peace of mind

MamazonAKAfatty · 20/01/2007 10:26

i have one on the crease between my thigh and fanjo....its not normally a problem but if i wear my frumpy pants (big knickers) they can sometimes rub and irritate the tag.

justchangingforthisthread · 20/01/2007 10:26

i had some lumpy fleshy things down there checked out this week by the nurse. was told it were skin tags. she said they are hardly ever anything to worry about.

Budababe · 20/01/2007 10:28

Hmmm - may not be a skin tag then.

Def get it checked out.

noddyholder · 20/01/2007 10:37

Get it checked I had something which turned out to be serious and I had left it for 11 years as gp said it was a harmless cyst!

ihavechangedmyname · 20/01/2007 13:56

Thanks everybody, I know the sensible thing to do is get it checked but it's far easier to ask for the opinion of a bunch of anonymous yet lovely ladies than go and see an extremely real Dr

Will go on Mon. Thanks

ihavechangedmyname, don't be scared, it's a new thing, get it checked, IF it's anything, you can get the treatment you need and get better, if it's not anything, then fantastic! But, at least you'll know. Good luck, let us know how you get on.

ihavechangedmyname · 22/01/2007 12:17

Ok, I have been brave and am going to the Drs tonight. All those who are fascinated by my mystery fanjo disorder watch this thread...and wish me luck.
