He is probably just having an off period. His body is coping with so much and he is likely to be exhausted.I used to have good and bad periods on dialysis and when I had a good day would get excited and overdo things and then end up in bed for a week.I am sure to you it must seem endless all the waiting. How often does he get seen?

misdee · 16/01/2007 14:25

every 2 to 3 weeks. next appoint is in feb.

It could, but it could also be that he has been doing a bit too much. Christmas takes it out of everyone.

I was worried about DH, but he stayed in bed and rested and is now doing well.

Hope that he feels better soon.

Do they adjust his pump settings when he visits the hospital? Is his tiredness related to the efficiency of the machine...iyswim.

Trying to second guess for you, misdee.

pump adjusts itself to his own heart rate. flows etc all the same as previously. good flash still, good fill, good empty.

Does he take any vitamins or supplements.According to the cardiomyopathy website a lot of people take co enzyme q10 and it is recommended by specialists in the US to really help with the fatigue which comes with cardiomyopathy.I started it last week but it takes a while to work so will let you know

misdee · 16/01/2007 14:55

I'm not sure I will find out for you xx It is being tested as a possible treatment for DCM and HCM.It naturally occurs in ahealthy heart and some heart medications destroy it so improvements have been seen in heart patients
