Hemiplegic migraine - does anyone have any experience?

My friend had what the doctors think was a hemiplegic migraine nearly a week ago. She's still in hospital with no movement or sensation in her left side. Does anyone know how long it's likely to be before it comes back and how likely is it she'll have another one?

from experience 12 days is the longest ive had very severe weakness and numbness down my left side , slurring and blurred vision lasted 3 weeks ,
ive yet to meet anyone with just 1 migraine attack so id say likely to have another one.

Thanks wfrances. She's still in hospital, under a neurologist and has been having repeated attacks, sometimes a few days apart, sometimes only a few hours. The facial weakness clears up really quickly but the arm/leg paralysis isn't going. Is this quite common in the early stages, in your experience?
