Light spotting in between periods

I have been on the pill for around 15 months, and had clockwork periods each 4 weeks. But in the last 5 days I have had light blood spotting, which has started mid cycle. Is this anything I would need checked out, or is it just one of those things that can happen? Thanks

sory cant help as was about to ask same question, been on pill ages, very good and precise at taking them, only i take two packets back to back as i have the most god awful periods, this month mid way thro my packet i had three days of light bleeding and quite bad pains, am continuing to the end of packet then will have a break, wait and see what happens next month i guess

just good to hear someone else has had this! I also had stomach pains before it started, just as I would the day before period started, so all a bit strange.

Sorry to be graphic but what colour is the spotting? Is it red blood or is it darker? I had darker discharge mid cycle and I had some erosion of the cervix. Got it treated no problem but it might be worth getting it checked out.

I have been experiencing this as well.
There is no pattern to it though.

mine is dark discharge, and i remember a gyny mentioning to me that i had slight reosion but nothing to bother about around 6 years ago before last son now 4.5,

Maybe not reosion then. Maybe if you have been on the same pill you need a change. Hopefully someone else with some better advice will come along.

Still have it today, along with some mild cramps, so have made appointment to see doctor next monday just to get checked out.

I had this once when i was on the pill. Had been on the same brand for a while and suddenly out of the blue I started spotting. The doctor just changed my pill, I think over time our bodies change (obviously blah blah) and the chemical balances in the pill may not do what they once did, therefore they change the pill to accommodate it. Also some pills are more disposed to spotting than others and the doctor will change you to one that isn't quite so disposed to it.

Couldnt get appointment with doctor, but got to see nurse today. She says most likely due to hormonal imbalance, and asked if i was stressed. I have been very stressed lately as have several "big decisions" to make so this all seems to make sense.
Today it seems to have turned into a full blown period (even though I have still 7 days tablets to take).
She said to come back if it doesnt settle down in a few days.

at least u have some sort of answer and u know that u can go back if it doesnt stop.
Actually i havebeen stressed of late especially last few weeks, so maybe there is something in that. Hope things settle down for u soon
