quick pill question

I've just been prescribed the pill at my 8 week check. I forgot to ask if I have to wait until my next period before starting it or can I start it tomorrow (I know I would have to use condoms for the 1st 7 days). What has anyone else done? TIA

If you want maximum protection start now and use condoms or say no until your period and you can start the pill _ personal choice I think

I was told to start taking it immediately and use condoms for the 1st fourteen days. (managed to take 7 days, forget my packet when went away for the weekend - dh not amused).
