dd has today be diagnosed with a perforated ear drum. she is supposed to be having her birthday party on sunday - does anyone know whether the antibiotics should kick in before then or should we start cancelling people. does anyone have any experience of perforated eardrum in children?

She should be fine by then . Nothing contagious abotu an ear infection as long as she is ok in herself and it isn't a swimming party I'd go ahead.

I agree- dd has had lots, and she's usually fine after 24 hours of starting antibiotics- hope she has a lovely time
