Have just found an empty packet that came out of ds1 new boots and the gel scattered all over the floor assuming that ds2 thought it was a packet of sugar or something nice. Will it make him violently ill or am i over-reacting. Help

TIA

No its fine - non toxic - only hazard is possible choking on the small chinks.

There have been a fe threads on this - I used to work with the stuff so I know its OK!

There was also a horrible taste to it so they tell me so didn't eat much!

my Dd did this before xmas, i too panicked thinking she would be poisened, but NHS direct reasurred me!

Flossam · 12/01/2007 20:42

Mine did this before xmas too. Just researched it on the net and found that it is just sterile sand or something like that? Not good to eat routinely, but no harm should come of it!

Whizzz · 12/01/2007 22:14

No not quite Flossam, but it is inert & non toxic. Its not advisable to eat in large quantities but the amount in a sachet shouldn't cause any harm. I'd just keep an eye on the child just in case
