Personally, I think no unless it won't stop bleeding (but that depends how old your DS is). If it's the very very tip (ie just the fleshy bit at the very top) it'll grow back nicely. I think they'll just dress it - do you have a minor injuries unit or does your GP do this sort of thing?

I've done this more times than I care to mention....

I would take him incase itneeds stitching as tiredemma said or in case there is any dirt or anything in it. You don't want it getting infected

Kelly1978 · 10/01/2007 14:24

i took him. the nearest A&E is about 10 miles away but there is a minor injury unit at the hospital in town and I took him there. He'd sliced a flap off one finger and deep cut into another and there was blood everywhere. They cleaned him up and put steristrips on and dressed it. I can't beleive the amount of blood, it's all oVer the Car. I feel really bad. He went thru the kitchen and then he and ds1 started fighting over a biscuit tin and that's how it happened. It was dt2, (21mnths).

Thanks everyone.

that was quick! better to be safe than sorry

Kelly1978 · 10/01/2007 15:55

I think the amount of blood there was scared them - he got rushed straight in.
