Swollen penis alert...!

My 6 month old has, for the second time, got an infection on the tip of his penis. It is very red and swollen, he is circumcised. it doesn't seem to hurt him at the moment but looks really sore.

From what I understand, the cause could be a number of things but at the moment nothing is adding up for us.

Has anybody seen this in a baby before? any pearls of wisdom are greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much

I have known little boys to get infections under the foreskin because mums are too scared to pull it back and clean properly.

But if he has been circusmised my first point of call would be the wound. was it done for health or religious purposes?

Im certainly no expert but from what i am aware of the religious ceremonies are done at home? maybe the wound has been infected.

as i say im no expert.

Hiya

The circumcision was done for religious purposes by a surgeon, it healed in a few days with no probs. This was more than 3 months ago.

The doctors are baffled too, it could be a sensitivity to something it's been in contact with - at least I hope that is all.

Good luck with your little one's circumcision, it will be fine.

Thanks for your replies.
