Those of you who had tinnitus and blocked ears with this horrible virus?

Hiya, I'm currently suffering from this awful virus which I've seen mentioned a few times. I just wondered those of you who have made a recovery how long did it take for your ears to go back to normal? x

Yes, I had the tinnitus with the virus. It started beginning of March. I'm afraid to say still aware if it intermittently. But I might have to train myself out of hearing it. Sounds a bit like I'm constantly near a TV with the sound down.

Ohh I'm sorry to hear that. The doctor seemed to think it would go once the virus did. Are your ears still blocked? Hopefully its something that will fade gradually.

Is the virus the one with the killer sore throat ?
I had it a few weeks back
Both ears became blocked and one had to be syringed although I do have problems with wax

Blocked ears not sooo bad. That's pretty much gone. Sore throat, headache, feeling knackered, then had the d&v virus in the middle. Don't know if same thing. Bad luck fellow sufferers. Bit of a shocker.

Oh my word it lasts weeks? I am a few days in and not enjoying the vertigo or tinnitus or viral symptoms. Nor are my children!

I do usually have tinnitus but this is especially loud and irritating, and my blocked ears and deafness are awful.

It's awful isn't it. Really wish something could be done for viruses. It does last a while but everyone's different so varies slightly from person to person. Are you better now Tobee? Hope we all feel better soon xx I'm not having much luck with clearing my ears but was recommended hot steams with olbas oil and sudafed.

Not totally back to normal, still got spells of vertigo. I suppose it's because ears and throats are all linked. But it comes and goes. Some days I've felt fully recovered. It's a real humdinger! Sorry that other people have it but was beginning to feel I was imagining some of it. My mum had the d&v and then fell over the next day which makes me feel that there's a link.

We've all had the virus too. My ears have felt blocked and I've been off balance. Seems to come and go then come back again.
Today I woke up with ear ache which is the first time I've had it in my life!

It's such a nightmare. My mum has the same thing, she's had it about 3/4 weeks, I've had it two. Would explain why she feels almost better one day then not great the next. When would you say you were over the worst of it? I've not had serious problems with vertigo yet although my mum has. My balance is very off though. I have heard some people mention d&v associated with it. Think symptoms vary from person to person. My left ear has been blocked for over a week now with tinnitus. So frustrating isn't it.
