Itchy red bumps all over my hands. What's causing them?

I have had these problems with the skin on my hands for years. Doctors have not been particularly helpful - are probably 'water blisters' and could be caused by anything. I occasionally get steroid cream when they're really bad.

They are itchy and sore all the time. When they're at their worst people will often ask how I burned my hands. :(

I'm determined to find a cause! I kept a food diary but couldn't see any links.

Does anyone have any experience of this? What triggers your reaction?

I get similar from Ivy. Took me years to work out what caused it as it could take several days to develop after gardening.

I get this from sunlight on my hands and arms. Antihistamines help the redness but not the itching unfortunately

I started with something similar last year. I self diagnosed it as dyshidrotic eczema as I had little blisters on my fingers, palms of hands and feet. Each time I have had a flare up it's got worse though and last time it was up my arms and my legs. After a couple of weeks it goes but then comes back again a few weeks later. I have other dry eczema type patches on my toes too which I was prescribed fucibet for which does seem to help and also dermol.

Hello, to me it looks like a fungus sort. I do have a bit and for a wile I was thinking is due to rarsh soap from public toilets or alcohol gel antibacterial. The steroids creams help but the best really! Buy some tea tree oil pure one and place on the blisters. It’s natural and immediately it will start to dry and itch will stop.
Best of lucky!

I'm going suggest dermatitis herpetiformis (a form of coeliac disease manifesting itself on the skin)

I got something similar a couple of times when I got accidentally 'glutened'
