help - pill problems!

I've recently started taking the pill again. I ran the first 2 packs together, because after 3 weeks I was only just beginning to get in the habit of taking them, and also I didn't want my period over Xmas. I've got 3 days of current packet left. I started spotting on Xmas day and have been bleeding progressively more ever since, today really heavy with clots. Is this normal? My usual cycle is 35 days and I wonder whether the heavy bleeding is my natural period. If it is, and my natural cycle is over-riding the pill-induced cycle, then is there a risk I could ovulate? Any advice appreciated!

Hello!

Have you been ill at all or forgotten any pills that could stop absorption into your system? Otherwise yes it sounds like your body is doing its own thing...

its quite unusual for your true cycle to override the cycle produced by the pill. What pill are you on? if its a low dose on then this can be more likely to happen.
If you have still taken all the pills correctly etc its v unlikely you have ovulated. Try finishing the packet and restarting after 7 days and use extra precautions for 14 days, if things don't settle in your next pack go back to the GP.

I'm taking microgynon. I haven't been ill, and I haven't forgotten any, although I have taken a couple later in the day than usual. I'm actually wondering if this was an early mc - this has happened to me before . But as I have been advised following surgery to wait a few months before trying for another baby, I am glad I am not pg right now.
