I wasn't staying at home - DH was home with DS (10 months)... fell asleep in bed giving him a bottle (we often cosleep but with DS snuggled into me). He somehow got off the high bed without crying, got across the landing and fell down the whole flight of stairs. Apparently he yelped as he fell, but grinned from the bottom, then did a spectactular poo.

He kept him awake for an hour afterwards (this happened at 3am, so DS was tired anyway).

He seems fine today - smiley, not a bruise on him.

I am worrying that there could be something internal that we can't see though. Should we take him to A&E??? I'm worrying about social services etc if we do (we have no stairgate upstairs yet because he is never allowed up there to crawl - only in his bedroom which does have a gate).

Soooo worried

~Update~

I went to the GP this morning (he had seemed fine all weekend but I was worrying lots still). GP has checked him out, says he looks like he just rolled and there is nothing wrong with him.

He also said that his toddler did it once too!! Makes you feel better when the doctors kids do it

Thankyou for the support in my panic!

good, i am glad you did, in retospect SS are actually more interested in people who don't visit GPs.....

When dd fell off the bed I called NHS direct. We were told that if she threw up once (after initial fall & crying) fine, if she threw up twice, go to A&E
Be prepared for the HV police though - mine really annoyed me after my dd's accident.

Ooops hadnt read your update.
Glad he is well.

Our HV gave my DH the 3rd degree when we went to clinic after the fall. DH got his back up on the comment "well, we can see it was probably just an accident", so he got a bit arsey with her following questions. I did have to grin when she gave him a lecture that we didn't have a fire guard, til he cooly pointed out we dont have a fire so a guard is a bit redundant!

I took my dd to the doctor's because she tipped a cup of tea over her, shortly followed by a trip to A&E for a head injury, and never heard a peep from the HV. I'm sure yours will be just as reasonable. Don't worry.
