Quick Group Strep B question?

MrsSpoon · 05/01/2007 18:34

I found out when pg with DS1 that I carried Group Strep B but I have been asked several times 'how I got it' and I really don't know except it lives in the body and AFAIK I've probably always had it.

How do you get it?

LOL, not worried myself, TBH it's my Mum that keeps asking, think she's worried that she has done something wrong or I got it from her, or something, would just like to reassure her.

as TMMJ says..you just carry it and many people carry it without it becoming active..it is no-one;s fault and your mum need not worry...x

its like a cold bacteria. you are born with it and with antibiotics during labour is harmless. im a carrier and unfortunately coz it went undetected got the infection in my uterus, but that is VV rare. there is a website i will find the link for you

There is a group B strep help group at www.gbss.org.uk based in our local area. I don't know much about it but they should be able to answer any questions.
