Stress incontinence - other than pelvic floor exercises, any tips to cure?!

I've had 2 children, second one is 8 months old and I'm still struggling with stress incontinence. Pelvic floor / Kegel exercises haven't help much.

Anyone tried "Aqua Flex" or whatever it's called from Boots? Gadget that you place inside you and it's supposed to tone the muscles? Any good....????

Bumping for you. It must be very distressing for you. I'm sure someone here has advice, it's such a common problem.

hello there

sorry to hear you've got this horrible problem. i've had it too since the birth of my dd.

I've got a lot better by doing the exercises but have been doing them under the watchful eye of a specialist physio. You should definitely get a referral from your GP if you haven't already.

I asked the physio about all the kit you can buy that's supposed to help but she doesn't believe in it. She says that doing the exercises standing up gives enough gravity to exercise the muscles properly. The only thing she gave me was a pelvic floor toner, which you use to show you that you're doing the exercises properly - that's the most important thing.

We're now thinking about number 2 and I'm absolutely terrified of going through another preg and birth. Convinced the problem is going to get worse. Did the second make a difference to your problem or did it just stay the same?

best of luck
