Advice on getting rid of athletes foot?

I've had it on and off for about six months and previous to that. I'm prone to fungal infections. I didn't realise this is what it is at first - I have itchy toes and feeling like my toes are hot and sore after I've been walking for any length of time. When I realised it was athletes foot I bought an otc cream to use. Is there anything I can do to get rid off it and hopefully stop it coming back?

I've never had any luck with the creams.

I use surgical spirit on a cotton wool pad to clean between my toes morning and night- yes it stings, but not for long. Then dab a bit of tea tree oil.

Mine only seems to flare up if I have antibiotics, so thankfully I haven't had it lately.

Bathe feet in vinegar ,Or salt water can work well.
