Head lice? Eczema? Both??

DD has been complaining of having an itchy head and she has had an eczema type rash across her shoulders/back the last few nights. I've just brushed her hair and am sure I saw a beastie!

If she has headlice what do I need to get?

They only cause an itchy head don't they? The rash wouldn't be connected??

Sorry to bump so quickly - coats are on ready to go to town but I want the best solution from MN not what the chemist needs to sell!!

My friends daughter always gets a red rash when she has nits, she always notices the rash before the nits. Go to the chemist and get something for the lice (never actually had then so i'm not sure what is best) but mention the rash as well.

That's handy to know - I didn't think they were likely to be related!

Will def speak to the chemist. Just don't want to be sold some crap thast costs a fortune if there's a tried and tested mn way to get rid!

My daughter gets eczema on her head and when she got headlice last year it seemed to make the rash worse. I took her to the GP and he perscribed headlice lotion that could be used on children that suffer with eczema, be carefull what you use as most lotions are not recommended for people that suffer from eczema. The one our gp perscribed was made by full marks (but the lotion, not the mousse or new liquid).
