I had a laparoscopy on Friday morning.

I came home from hospital saturday evening.

My incisions etc are all healing fine and im in much less pain with them however I feel generally worse in myself.

Feel very dizzy, lightheaded, headachey, shakey and weak. This is much worse if i try to stand up/move around.

Should i be feeling like this? if its normal i will just relax and get on with healin but im worried because the laparoscopy and DandC were to find a presumed ectopic pregnancy but they couldnt find anything.

Im concerned something is sitll in there!

Was it a general or local anaesthetic?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 01/01/2007 16:06

general

I felt completely wiped out for a good 5 days after having a general. You need to take it easy.

(and that was without all the hormonal/emotional aspect of your experience. Get yourself pampered, you deserve it.)

I felt awful after my laparoscopy with GA... I threw up everywhere when I got home, and was very weak and shakey for some reason. I think it's the GA. xXx

Have you checked your temperature? They could all be signs of an infection. However, it could also be just that you have had an absolutely shit time recently and you need to try and recoup. I'm sorry you had to have this, and I would think it very unlikely they would miss something, the very reason why they decided to look inside being for any ectopic. Unless they gave you any hint that not everything could be visualised?

You may have lost a little blood intra operatively too. I'd be surprised if it was enough to make you feel like this tbh, but then I don't know what your blood levels were prior to the op. Also could be low blood pressure causing you to feel like this.

Are your levels FSH I mean going up/down or static? On balance I would say you are probably run down and run in and you need to try and take some time to be pampered and looked after - I know DH wasn't the best. Is there anyone else who can helP?

i think my bp is prone to being a bit low.

when they didnt find anything they said i have to go back on friday for hormone level check again just in case something is still growing or was missed.

its just that im feeling worse and not better its a bit concerning.

back to the duvet for me!

i dont have a thermometer (bad mummy alert!)

my hands and feet are freezing but feel warm elsewhere, not excessively though.

I would phone NHS direct and see if you could get hold of a thermometer, they will probably want to know. Having said that, I have cold hands and feet and warm elsewehere! I would think that with the ectopic being 7/8 weeks by now? it would/should have been apparent. Will be reassuring to have hormone levels though. Or could you go back to GP tomorrow? Have they been sympathetic?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 01/01/2007 16:21

My Gp's havent been involved in any of it, it has all been dealt with at the hospital.

My eyes feel funny, think im just in a state of paranoid awareness after everything.

Thanks for reassuring me _ i will see if i can hunt out a thermometer
