According to the label I can give to my ds who is almost 4 anything between 5 and 10 mls, we always give the maximum, 10 mls. Is that what you do as well?

It depends how bad they are.
If high temp or very ill then full dose.
Otherwise the lower dose.

I find children's nurofen works better than calpol with my children, and in the case of nurofen, the doctor told me it was OK to double the stated dose without causing any harm. I'm sure you shouldn't overdose on paracetamol though! You can use both paracetamol and nurofen together if necessary!

As for doses, I think they are compiled on the weight of the child, so if your child is puny, give them a smaller dose than if he's big for his age.
