We're going on a Seacat in a couple of weeks (2.5 hour crossing) and I know they're awful if it isn't a flat calm. So I asked the chemist if there was anything a non-tablet-taking 2-year-old could take for travel sickness, and she cheerfully handed me a bottle of Phenergan. The appealing prospect of a long journey to France with a comatose child in the back flashed across my mind.
Trouble is, it says take a 5ml dose the night before. Ideally, I wanted to get up, look at the weather, and give her some if it looked stormy. My first question is - will it work that quickly - does it really need 12 hours to work?
The 2nd question is, if I give it to her the night before, will she sleep like the dead all night and wake up grumpy but wide-awake all day for the journey?
Obviously I could just test out the sleepy effect but I thought I'd find out what other's experience was.
