excessive blinking!

my 4 year old Ds has recently started excessively blinking. He is due another eye test but his last one 6 months ago was fine. My instincts say this is a bit of a habit - anybody else got any words of wisdom!

my dd went thru a phase of this at around 8, the doc reckoned it was an allergy (I didn't think so but anyway it went after eyedrops or antihistamine or something.. can't really remember) We also gave her an eyetest... which was fine.
