A question about nits

My mother of all people, found some eggs in DDs hair last thursday, no actual lice. I treated her with derbac that night, washed it out the next morning and combed with a nit comb, i,ve sice conditioned and combed her hair twice and done several dry combings with the nit comb, but when i search her head i still fing the odd egg lying around.
Will these eggs all be dead ? Is it normal to take a few combings to get them all out?, she has very thick, dark hair.

Dark eggs are full with little creatures waiting to hatch, white eggs are empty

Just keep combing every other day and that should do it.
Just depends how long she has had them. Although I would say the chemicals do not kill eggs.
Hedrin is good as it suffocates the lice and eggs.

Thanks. The Derbac packaging said it did kill eggs and live lice though but now i'm wondering if thats the case.
Would it be worth trying hedrin aswell do you think?

erm I probably wouldn't this time. Just comb every other day for a fortnight and should be fine. Just as long as you don't have re-infestation. So whole family too!

I just use the comb and loads of conditioner initially, sectioning it off properly. Then do that at least every three days for two weeks. Hair straighteners seem to kill the eggs in the hair but obviously you can't get that close to the scalp with them

I wouldn't use lotions and potions unless I'd seen a live, moving louse. In fact, I only use it on step-d when she has loads of lice. Wet combing with conditioner every 3 days for a couple of weeks works really well.

Oh and get a prescription for a nitty gritty comb. They're fab.
