I took the MAP on the 11th, after a mishap. I was due on 3 days ago. Tonight I have had a tiny amount of spotting, but my period hasn;t started... should I panic or will my period come???

SparklyXmasKat · 29/12/2006 02:00

no idea why I can't carry to term. Never been looked into, though DD1 did have GRoup B strep infection, so I think it might be that...

congratulations. a friend had to have a stitch put in to stop her going in to early labour not sure what condition that was for though.
how does dh feel

christmascarol3 · 29/12/2006 02:11

give your self a bit of time to get used to it, it always feels like a shock, well in my case any how. The trouble in your brain will be going into overdrive. Perhaps thats why they say test in the morning

SparklyXmasKat · 29/12/2006 02:11

its not my cervial (sp) that the problem, I just go into labour early, I have the full monty but just too early

not wanting to put a downer on this, but if you leave it after so lon a line can appear on the preg test when you aren't pregnant. there is only a certain length of time after doing it that the line means anything iyswim. how long after the first time you checked did you see the line?

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 29/12/2006 02:22

just found this: Make sure you read all of the instructions that come with your home pregnancy test carefully. Also, take note of the test reading time given in the test instructions. Certain tests could give a false reading if they?re read too early or too late. A common mistake that women make when reading home pregnancy tests is waiting too long. This could result in a line appearing that could be read as a positive result, but is actually an evaporation line created as the urine on the test dries.

i would test again in the morning to make sure. you don't want to get all excited and then go to the docs and you not be preg after all.

SparklyXmasKat · 29/12/2006 02:28

it was 5 minutes from when I did it, that I noticed the very faint line, within 10 minutes it was stronger, the test says to read it within 10 minutes.

OP posts:
WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 29/12/2006 02:33

oh thats ok then. if it says read within 10 minutes and it was there before 10 minutes you probably are. how do you feel? so what are you about 4 weeks gone do you reckon?

SparklyXmasKat · 29/12/2006 02:34

yes, thats about right, I feel strange, keep laughing.... no wonder my breasts are sore... lol

OP posts:
SparklyXmasKat · 29/12/2006 02:39

keep looking at the test to make sure that my eyes aren;t playing tricks on me, its still there....

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 29/12/2006 02:42

do you have dds or dses? i know a lot of people don't care (i didn't) but would you prefer to have a ds or a dd? it will probably take a while to get used to. i was 17 when i found out i was pregnant and everyone thought it would take me ages to get used to and i would be horrified but i was so excited from the beginning. loads of people expected me not to be though so don't worry about that.

SparklyXmasKat · 29/12/2006 02:44

I have 1 DS and 2 DDs, I would like a Ds this time, as the girls are a nightmare lol. I was 18 when I had DS (he is 9 now) and I am 28 in 2 weeks, so it will be a huge difference from when I was pg last time (2001) at the age of 22.

I said to DH that it must have meant to be, as I have fallen even after the MAP (was taken within 8 hours too)

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 29/12/2006 02:56

ooooh it must be meant to be then!

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 29/12/2006 02:58

its nice to see that a "young mum" has stayed with their partner for longer than a few years!! everyone seems to think that we can't hold down a commited realtionship cos we are young, not that i can talk but i'm glad there are people to prove such idiots wrong!

mamama · 29/12/2006 03:40

Been lurking for a bit and just wanted to come out of hiding and say congrats!

SparklyXmasKat · 29/12/2006 07:39

couldn;t sleep last night, hence the late postings, and now I can't sleep either. Have peed in a cup ready for another test later, just to be sure. Want to go and get a test now, but DH is still sleeping and I don;t want to drag the kids out to tesco. So will wait about another hour and then get DH out of bed
I have been with DH 12 years this year, married 10!!!! We have had our rough times but we get through it.
Am dreading telling my younger sister (not misdee) as she has had 2 miscarriages and is still trying for a baby, and is desperate for another baby. SHe has a condition which makes it hard to keep a baby once she has concieved.
