I'm now worried that the HPV vaccine is not safe - will my daughters be infertile because of it?

A friend just posted this article on Facebook.

My eldest was one of the first to have the HPV vaccine and my youngest DD has just had it a month ago. I'm now worried that I might have signed them off to being infertile. Please can someone with knowledge shed some light on this for me please? I've emailed their school this evening and I shall investigate further. I have to admit to feeling a little bit Shock.

I guess I should be glad that scientists like "C.Shaw, L.Tomljenovic, Y.Shoenfeld, C. Exley" are keeping Establishment on their toes.

Exley's relevant contributions are letters to the editor I can't read full text from home, but Letters means he's raising question rather than publishing anything definitive.

Shoenfield owned up to conflict of interest for defending someone claiming to have vaccine damage. Shaw & T. have alleged COI, bad enough to lead to their joint article being withdrawn by a journal before publication.

Shaw seems to have said that meaning of his research has been twisted by anti-vaccine campaigners.

I have a teen DD so the real answer is personal. It's just every time I look at case studies on supposed HPV damage... the evidence is rubbish. It's like saying "I tasted sharkmeat three times in 2013, the only times in my life I ever had shark, and that's to blame for all my health problems that started in 2014."

People are just so wedded to believing only what they want to believe, this debate will never go away.

So, let's see how the individual who owns the website you have linked to makes her money...

"In order for me to support my blogging activities, I may receive monetary compensation or other types of remuneration for my endorsement, recommendation, testimonial and/or link to any products or services from this blog."

In other words she is working as a paid ad exec, and social media rep for suppliers of raw milk, 'healthy alterative' supplements, bleach baths, and a ton of other 'alternative' (very expensive) 'natural' supplies. And you actually fall for this?

I hate the internet sometimes. I hate that it exposes us to basically anyone with an axe the grind, no matter how barmy - and I hate that people like this can wheedle their way into your decision-making when they are just salespersons. Selling 'cures' for cancer with coffee beans. People giving their children bleach enemas! You are stopping to even think about the wisdom of giving your child a vaccination because of the content of a website owned by someone in the pay of others.

"Dealing with it is one thing, but the abuse on here, the denial of everything I show the doctors, neurologists, even the school is what has sent me into overdrive. I will never give up on this because I have utter integrity in my soul and utter knowledge that it is evil. "

Flibble, flibble, I am on a one-woman crusade, I will be proved right, I tells ya! Yup, you KNOW you are RIGHT, and the rest of everyone else you talk to is WRONG! If they don't agree they are all part of the big-pharma conspiracy...or is the free-mason conspiracy to seed the clouds? The single-mindedness of the crank talking.....

Talking of cranks - I could not help noticing a common thread that connects the few anti-vaxxers on this thread. You all seem to 1) Feel it is 'heresy' to be an anti-vaxxer on here. 2) In the next sentence make an unsupported assertion like 'Vaxxines DO cause , and no-one believes me! Coincidence? Who knows....?

No vaccine is safe because nothing is safe. Everything has risk.

You will never get anyone reputable saying otherwise. What you are trying to choose is the safer course. From reliable information sources.

That's the hard bit .

specialsubject · 07/05/2016 17:15

...and from other posts, that website is NOT a reliable source!
