Shooting pains in my back after chiropractic treatment

Is this normal? The chiro couldn't actually get my back to budge, tho did adjust my neck. I have been totally exhausted since, plus now I have all these little electric shock type pains up and down my spine. Not sure what is normal or not! Any advice would be very welcome.

Sorry I've only just seen this.

That sounds like doctor territory to me. Chiropractic manipulations of the neck can cause serious damage.

Given time it's now evening Friday, perhaps call 111 to find if this is urgent?

I think you need to see a proper doctor for a real life assessment.

As Pausing says chiropractic neck manipulations can cause serious damage and your symptoms are worrying.

Thanks for the replies. I got a phone consult with the GP who didn't seem especially concerned and said it sounded like a tweaked muscle. I have also just mailed the chiro who phoned me straight back and said to come over in an hour so he can have a look. Which I feel slightly nervous about. I really don't want to be manipulated again at the mo!

Don't let him touch your neck again!

If the pins and needles persist, I really suggest A&E.....

Shock Please don't go back to him with this!

For many, being a chiropractor involves being in denial about the harm it can cause.
