I'm meeting with a consultant to discuss treatment for my fibroids (largest is about 12cm). They will probably suggest uterine arterial embollism. From what I've read, it can result in max 20% shrinkage. I look about 5 months pregnant now and am not sure 20% is enough to make me feel better about my appearance. (Other main side effect is pressure on my bladder and lots of visits to the loo -- I can never sleep through the night. But periods aren't so bad, so I know I'm lucky copared to what others have to deal with.)
Anyway, would appreciate any info on whether UAE worked for Mumsnetters. Thanks.
