my 6mth old son has not been himself for the last 2 days (crying, v. unsettled) and today he has 3 spots on his torso and lots around his nappy line!

i have a son aged 3 and he has had it but was in pants by then.

so my question is, is chicken pox worse around the nappy area?

They will spread quickly if it is CP.

yeah thought that.

but when my son had them he only had a few to start with, and didn't get any more for 3-4 days.

apparently more come out every few days.

Yes, ds3 has just had it (he's 2.3) and they were worst round his nappy line and on his bottom.

Dd has it at the moment, and it's coming up in bigger clusters where it's warm - under her armpits, in her hair and round her fanjo.

They do come out in fresh batches every day; dd had a dozen spots on Wednesday, a hundred yesterday, and there's not an inch on her today without a spot. You can sit and watch them springing up.

I hope he's feeling better soon - it's horrible, isn't it!

They seem to come out more where they are warm IME so lots around the nappy area.

Poor things.
