Close friend in hospital far away

I can't go to him and he's pretty ill. Can I send him things? How?

Sending physical things to the hospital are unlikely to get through to him. However if he is conscious, and has his phone, regular texts may be the best thing you could do for him. Texting with friends kept me sane when I was in for ages; a lifeline with world which helped me feel less institutionalised. When he is out you may be able to send things.

That's a shame. We've never been text-y friends, but I suppose we'll have to learn!

Cards will get to him, if you know the ward number.

That's good to know! Thanks. I can slip a silly little thing in with a card every few days.
