Dentist or someone who has had extraction? Why are my gums white?

I had a tooth extracted and temporary bridge put in yesterday morning. All going well today but just noticed looking in the mirror that my gums are white! Is this OK? I have been very careful with salt rinses etc. I haven't even had a coffee. Any thoughts? (Am going to call the dentist tomorrow)

No blood flow there?

It's fine, it's kind of like the dry skin you get round a scab but it's wet and it's a different sort of skin. If you're not in pain and there's no untoward swelling or bleeding (over and above that you'd expect after surgery) then don't bother phoning your dentist.
