I'm very pleased - the GP is going to refer ds to a different consultant

I saw the GP today and told him I wanted to change consultants. He asked why, and I told him that I had seen the letter the consultant had written about me - see thread here for background

The GP read through the letter and you could tell by his face that he was quite amazed by it. He said he could understand that I wanted to change consultants, and basically he refer me to whomever I choose at the local hospital!

Good for you emkana. I hope that you get to see someone with whom you can develop a good rapport .

That sounds like good news. Hope you find someone you like and trust!

excellent news
what stage are you at now em?
how much do you know?

sorry - not been keeping up but think of you often

tamum · 18/12/2006 20:10

Oh fab- I guessed this was you when I saw the title. I think that's exactly the right thing to do. You said your GP wasn't a particularly empathetic person, didn't you, so the letter must have been bad!

Saturn74 · 18/12/2006 20:10

Glad to hear this, Emkana.
I hope you get a more supportive and communicative consultant this time!
