My mother is 83 years old. She is slim and fit. She has had four children, all vaginally. She fractured her hip last year, recovered well, but now a prolapse that she says she has had (though not as severely as now) for nearly 45 years has worsened and she has some incontinence. She has been fitted with a pessary, which has made the incontinence much worse and it gives her a feeling of pressure when she stands. She is a very private person, has avoided seeking much medical advice for years and will only discuss in general terms with me. I am worried about her as she is becoming understandably upset and demoralised, we need some advice from someone who knows how to help her and what her options are. I tried to pm gussiegrips but was not able to - I am sure she gets inundated with desperate women.
I have the name of an eminent and highly regarded gynae as someone who may be able to help but not sure what to do and I want to now help her to find the right solution from the right person who can explain pros and cons of her options.
Thank you
