My baby is three months tomorrow and has had his first set of jabs, i was wondering if any one knew when it is ok to take him to the swimming baths? He really loves water and i would love to take him.

I was told by both my HV and GP that there is no need to wait until they've had any jabs- you can take them anytime after they're born.

any time. it even says so in your nhs immunisations booklet thingy..so go for it!

Probably best to take him asap actually - I waited till my DD was 8mth and I wish I'd got her used to it before she became a bit more "aware" - she screamed bluse murder and tried to climb out via my head! My friends both had theirs in the water from 3mth and theirs were both fine. Incidentally, my DD loves swimming now and I found one of those inflatable swim seats(from boots or mothercare)invaluable until she was 14mths.

take him anytime but only plan to stay in for 10-15 mins or so. The problem with babies in pools is not whether they've had their jabs but them getting cold.

Have fun!
(I took my DS2 from about this age and, 5 years later, he still goes every week and loves it )

have lots of fun - its lovely taking your baby to the pool. if your local pool has a learner pool this will probably be warmer and they might do special sessions for babies where they get out toys/inflatables and can give tips, i know mine does.
