Is this thrush?

I am not sure. I don't think I have had it before.

I am pretty sore and itchy. I feel a bit off colour too, but that may not be related. I had a little bit of lower tummy/abdomen ache and some back ache, but nothing too bad and it has gone now. The itching hasn't though and feels worse than it did this morning. I have no discharge though.

Could it be thrush? Do I have to go to the doctors if it is or can I get some cream to sort it out? Will I have to wait until Monday?

You can buy canesten from chemist. It will stop itching and clear up pretty quickly if it is thrush. Otherwise will be an embarrassing visit to GP. I know I should be grown up about these things, but I am always mortified at docs with anything to do with fanjo.

Thank you. I will go to the chemist today. I can't face the GPs, especially as my period started last night as well. Still very itchy and no is sore when I go to the toilet as a result.

sounds like thrush.

Get canesten duo with the pessary(sp)
as the cream only treats the symptoms, it doesnt cure it

Will do. Thanks again. Not had this before. It is very sore! Is is contagious? Will DH get it?

if its thrush, I think you can give it to DH, but he wont "get it", but carry it and give it back to you.... I think.

Def sounds like thrush to me. I get a sore tummy when I have it too. Don't need to see GP to get canesten pessary and cream. Don't worry about having your period tho - doubt they'd want to examine you when sounds so like thrush.

Thanks all. At my age I really ought to know more about this type of stuff. I am so clueless at times. I will be off to the chemist this morning. Just hoping it all works fast now as I am very uncomfortable with it.

Make dh use the cream on his bits as well, so as to avoid cross-infection. I am sure the instructions in the tube will be more specific. Good luck!

Have now been to chemist. I have Canestan Duo. I have had the oral capsule already and used the cream once. I shall make DH use the cream as well until I am sorted out. The box says that symptoms should have gone within two days. I am hoping so!

Thank you for your help.
