trapped fingernail in car door

Is there any point in going to a and e and waiting for ages? Will they drain it and stop me losing a nail or will I clog up a and e. It is massively painful but after 4 hours the pain is starting to ease a bit. Thanks.

No point in going IMO. Painkillers and cold pack.
If you are going to lose the nail even draining the blood underneath won't stop it.
Give it 24 hours and the throbbing will stop.
