Does anyone recognise these rash symptoms

My DS was hospitalised three weeks ago with a strange set of symptoms:
Mon a.m started off as two dry patches on either side of his face. progressed to excema looking patches during the day. Felt hot.
Tues a.m. patches look more red, have spread around the mouth more, body is beginning to look red like he's been in the sun too long. Complaining of all over itching. GP prescribes hydrocortisone
Weds. More of the same, alot of itching and very hot to touch skin on legs
Thurs. Lips start swelling and looking very dry and sore - intense itching attacks all over. Took to A&E where 3 docs could not pinpoint anything but 'bacterial infection'and prescribed amoxycillin.
Fri. Eyes started swelling, looking really unwell, returned to A&E where they admitted him and thought scarlet fever (glands were also up) but this came back negative. Given course of fluxo antibiotics and seemed to show improvement over weekend.
Let out on Monday with skin over whole body going dry and flaky and small blisters on extremities in the week after. Left with red marks on face (which had gone crusty)but other than that back to normal. Hospital/GP still not sure what it was. Tuesday it started coming back. Does this sound familiar with anyone?

Yikes - sounds similar to something that another MNers son had recently - Kawasaki syndrome I think.

I might be way off with that but I think some of the symptoms are the same.

Either that or allergic reaction?

thanks for the suggestion, I had looked up the symptoms to Kawasaki's but he didn't have a particularly high fever/red eyes or swollen hands and feet. It sounds pretty nasty so I hope it isn't!
