Early Menopause?

Has anyone any experience please?

For the last few months I have been having hot flushes - they are getting more and more pronounced. They start sometime during the second half of my cycle and are worst in the week bfore my period.

I also seem to be getting horrible PMT (never was a big sufferer in the past), and periods (for me) have got closer togetether (always had a v. irregular cycle).

I know I need to see Dr but I'm kind of putting it off - what if I am having an early menopause.

But I am finding the hot flushes increasingly difficult to cope with.

PS now you know why I chose my Xmas name

LOL at your Christmas name!

You sound like you're having a rough time.

I don't have any experience of early menopause but it does sound like your hormones are changing for whatever reason. Do go to your GP.

Bumping it up for you in case someone else can help.

How old are you BTW?

hi frayedknot, have you not long had a baby? the reason i'm asking is because i had symptoms like yours when my ds was about 4 months old, and, of course, being a nurse i ignored them when i eventually went to see my gp he tested my thyroid function and it was overactive and i'm still being treated now and ds is 7 months. other symptoms are hair falling out, a fast heart rate (think mine was 125) and weight loss. could be an explanation and is a bit more pleasant than early menopause! good luck

I am 37. I already have thyroid problems (hypothyroid) so perhaps it's my thyroid levels playing up?!

Perhaps I've gone a bit over. Pity really cos I was feeling a lot better on the dose I am on.

Must go back to DR.

I would be very relieved if it was thyroid and not menopause!
