Period for 2 weeks??? What could this be?

I have been on my period for two bloody weeks now (sorry, pardon the pun but I'm sick of it!).
This is my first period since I donated eggs (hence the name change) so I wondered if that could be a factor? Although the clinic did say my cycle would go back to normal straight away. Well normal is 3 days, not 2 weeks! I've had grumbly pains in my lower abdomen too which I don't normally get.
Anyone had anything like this before, could it be connected or could it be something else altogether?
Thanks

is it possible you have an infection, hence the prolonged bleeding?

any clots, you have some pain , any fever, or general unwellness?

I would probably call the clinic to clarify or see the GP..just in case..if this is not the norm for you , it needs to be checked...

Some clots but no fever or unwellness really. I bled for a few days after the procedure but then it stopped and I had about 3 weeks in between that and starting my period. I have felt quite tired recently but put it down to being busy.

if this is out of the ordinary for your cycle, and you were told to expect a normal period, then it is worth being seen...x

Bugger, forgot the clinic shuts at 4.30. Will try tomorrow, thanks lulumama

I've had IVF, so been through the egg collection. After my failed cycle I thought my AF would never end but it was stop/start - heavyish bleeding for a few days, then nothing for a few then some more bleeding, nothing a few days then brownish spotting.

I think if you are bleeding heavily then it perhaps warrants investigation but if it's more like spotting I think this can be fairly common following egg collection. Also it is possible that your endometrium lining was much thicker than usual because of the stimm drugs so AF can be heavier. The drugs can interfere with the usual shedding of the lining so it takes longer to complete.

The grumbly pains, I don't know, unless it's ovulation pains? Worth getting checked out though.

Hope it resolves itself.
