Hurting tummy or not???

DD (3.6) has been saying since Saturday that her tummy hurts - not all the time, just suddenly announces it hurts and groans a little bit.

The first couple of times DH gave her calpol - now not.

She was sick last night - just once. She has had a few late nights though and is sometimes sick when she is tired (was about 7pm).

I am feeling that it is more likely a wanting of calpol (what is the attraction to that stuff?) and liking the attention... BUT is there anything (any bugs going round etc) that could cause sudden random tummy aches, and not a lot else??

My 5 year old has been getting tummy aches for the last couple of years, on and off!!!!

The GP always says to make sure she has enough fluids.

Have said she may get constipation.

Sometimes she has trapped wind and the pain will go afterwards.

She has had a kidney infection that needed antibiotics.

Mine are the same with calpol, its like syrup, its disgusting. But it works!!!!

I have my 3 year old ill, she has a chest infection and gets sick with it.

I think its all the crap being realesed off her chest.

There are loads of kids ill from nursery.

Lots of sickness, ear infections and bad chests!!!

Not much help to you, but if it continues go to GP.

Keep her fluids going in, thats most important.

Hi Flame. Ds1 always has tummy ache, I can't work out whether it's for attention or he really does have it.

There is a mild form of the tummy bug that seems to be infecting everyone and it starts with a really sore tummy, not tummy ache but just sore. It comes and goes throughout the day. If you're lucky it'll pass if you're not it then turns into sickness and diarrhea.
