I am 45+ and have a mild dose of shingles. Is very sore and painful at times.Any advice out there. I am a fitness instructor and love keeping fit and continue to exercise but it does feel sore around my torso and back. Should i continue to exercise if i generally feel ok ? ?

Shingles is horrid horrid. You can get something from doctors (but can't remember name-it is the same as the stuff they give you for herpes, not that I have herpes!), but is has to be taken in first 48 hours I think. Also it is very expensive and some GP's not keen on prescribibg because of this.

I personally would not continue to exercise, as I think you are supposed to slow down when suffering as it can be stress related.

Also, how long have you had it....hate to say this but it may get worse if it is a recent attack.

I had it exactly where bra strap goes round back, and couldn't wear a bra. Was unable to work (apart from pain) as I work in a secondary school, and I was not hanging free without a bra in there. No way!
