Has anyones child had this and been refered to a orthopeadic dr. If so what can they do about it, does it ever cause any long term damage?

My dd (now 5 1/2) has dislocated her elbow 3 times. IThe first 2 times it happened she was a toddler. We were told she would grow out of it but then it happened again last winter. I don't think it will do any long term damage but she may always have to be a little bit careful of not pulling/twisting her left arm. No one ever suggested we should see an orthopeadist or other specialist for it.

About a year ago, my dd who was 3 at the time dislocated her right elbow when she was playing with her sister, a week later she was dancing at a kids xmas party and dislocated her left elbow. Apparently it is quite common at that age and normally kids grow out of it, we were never referred to anyone. I also dislocated my elbow a few times when I was young and although I had to be careful when I was a kid, it's not caused me any problems as an adult.

It's happened three times in a year to my daughter who is 2 1/2. She has been refered to a dr though I cannot see how this will help.
