cola coke anyway!!

I know it is really bad for my health, but if i try to stop drinking it, I get headaches, feel sick etc. I think its the caffene (sp?). I started drinkingcokewhen i cut down on the amount of coffee I was drinking.

What is the best way to cut down on it? Is it worth cutting down all together or slowing down iykwim.

Thanks

Oh god me too!!!
I am totally addicted!! I hate diet coke...but have started drinking diet cherry which is quite nice.
Its all I drink really! Thought I'd better cut down on the sugar intake!
I think it must be the caffeine as I get withdrawal symptoms too (god that sounds grim doesn't it!!)

Hi jo! I do so loooove coke. I try to limit myself to just a couple per week but now that I'm on maternity leave I can tell it's much harder. I wander into the kitchen and think Oh, a coke with lots of ice sure would be good right now...and there I go again.

Right girls how can I put this...........????

I used it to clean my toilet last week and it came up a treat.

jabberwocky · 10/12/2006 14:18

No problem I'm impressed that anyone with 2 kids gets cards done at all. None for us this year I'm afraid, although no baby blues, etc so far.

charliecat · 10/12/2006 14:19

My friends addicted to coke, shes also been told by the doctor shes morbidlly obese
I told her dd, that its good for cleaning toliets and not much else.

Pinkchampagne · 10/12/2006 14:19

I am addicted to coke too, diet coke though, I don't like the non diet coke as I find it too sweet.
It's the mixing my coke with Bacardi that I need to cut down on though!

jabberwocky · 10/12/2006 14:19

So our insides are squeaky clean?

foxinsocks · 10/12/2006 14:20

I used to be addicted to coke as a student. Had one for breakfast every day for years and years!

Went off when I was pregnant (and tea/coffee) and have never looked back.

If you go cold turkey, you'll need to find a substitute like herbal tea or sparkling water for when you crave it.

I find that if I have a coke or tea/coffee with caffeine in it now, it makes me feel hyper for ages!

MerryMellowmas · 10/12/2006 14:22

We used to drink a 6 pack per day, but we were told the effects on teeth etc so dh now drinks diluted and I have moved onto vimto.

Trying to cut them both out though. I used to be addicted to polos, now THAT was weird. Had to cut down to half a one

binkacat · 10/12/2006 15:28

Me too - but I've weaned myself onto the caffine free stuff which I guess is a bit better. Had a week of feeling awful after giving up the caffine, but feel betetr now.

But still can't give up the caffine free stuff. Its all I drink - no exaggeration. Breakfast, lunch and tea.

I drank loads of coke, and know all about the withdrawal symptoms!!, but I read in the Times a couple of weeks ago that just four cans a week increases bone loss, its only coke that does it , not lemonade or anything else, its apparently the phosphorus in it that sparks a reaction. It shocked me into stopping cold turkey. read this it stopped me!!
