Bleeding mid cycle, on pill - advice?

Mmm, okay - I have to give horrid, yucky details int his so sorry but feeling a bit concerned.

Background:
Always been on pill with no problems. I am now back on the pill and have been since the 6 week check after having DD 2 years ago. Didn't have a normal period first. For first couple of months everything was really light then I didn't have a period for over a year. Then since last July time it has been pretty much okay each month, very regular although type of bleeding has varied between really light and quite heavy. But never whilst taking the tablets.

This month I have started having bleeding. I have another 5 or 6 days of my pill left but on Saturday morning I started bleeding. It was quite red but mixed up with quite a lot of stickly, stretchy discharge. There isn't loads but nough for me to worry. By Sat night and yesterday it had gone more brown in colour, but this morning it is red again. Not as much discharge with it (but still some).

I have never had this before. Haven't got time to get to doctors before Friday - have to go then anyway as need new pill prescription.

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions if this is quite normal and okay?

Thanks.

I had very similar to you about 2 years ago.

What I had was called an erosion, something to do with the lining of the womb starts growing out of your cervix (sounds horrid I know!). As this lining is soft (in contrast to the tough skin on your cervix) it can start to bleed. Easy fixed though with cautorising (? can't spell), which was uncomfortable but not overly painful, and it hasn't come back since.

How long ago was your latest smear? You would probably be better off checking with your GP as it might be something totally different.

Hope you get it sorted anyway.

Hi Hula, I'm sure you are fine to wait until Friday but you MUST see your doctor
Its usually nothing to worry about but in very very rare cases, it can be an indication of something more serious, so get it checked

Thanks. My appointment has actually now been made for Monday and I am having a smear at the same time. It was due in january - oops!

Seems better at moment but will definitely have it checked out.
