*please read* vomiting question a bit worried

DS was vomiting for about 4 hrs on sat night, he seemed much better on sun but was sick once on monday morning when he ate a banana really quickly. Me and dp were both vomiting on mon and now my friends ds has got the same bug from us.

The thing is ds was just sick about half an hour ago. He had obv sat up and been sick because it was all on his sheet and only a tiny amount on his bag which I changed. He seemed fine though happy for a cuddle a quick sip of water and to go to sleep. I sat with him in my lap but he wasnt too comfy so I have put him in bed and have the monitor with me.

I didnt take his babygro off as not dirty so do not know if he has a rash but do not want to wake him unnecessarily. He had scrambled eggs for dinner prob not the best thing but he has been really off his food and ate it all up.

I had been planning to take him to the GP tomorrow anyway because he has had a cough for more than a month and has been a bit grumpy all week.

Anyone think I should be more worried and not wait until am for med advice or does this sound normal?

Sorry such a rambley message xx xxx xx

Be careful he doesn't get dehydrated. Keep him off dairy products & eggs for a couple of days at least.
Does he have a high temperature?
How old is he?

He is 16 mo. I dont think he had a temp i took it 3 times this morning and it was fine but I am not sure how reliable the ear thermometer is. I didnt take it just then but he didnt seem feeverish.

I am going to lurk for a while incase anyone else sees this then check in on him and go to bed. The thread further down about temperature and vomiting and coughing has reassured me a bit that this is the big he has and that it can go on for a while! Thanks fortyplus for posting

My doc said don't bother with thermometers - you can tell if they're hot!
If he's sleeping soundly and is nicely warm not hot I'm sure he'll be fine.
But if he wakes get him to drink diluted fruit juice or cooled boiled water.

Is he ok today?

pookey · 11/12/2006 21:15

Hi FortyPlus, just saw this, he had an ear and throat infection and the GP thought his cough caused him to be sick on that occasion. thanks for asking
